BORDERLINE LOVERS NOW ON DVD

The film that traveled across the globe and played at over fifteen international festivals in the period between 2005-2008, is now available on DVD.

'Borderline Lovers is a documentary that shines light on the power of romantic love to bring people together across chasms of prejudice, animosity, and violence. In the war-torn countries that were once Yugoslavia, filmmaker Miroslav Mandic followed star-crossed lovers pursuing their personal dreams and going against the wishes of their families. Yes, sort of a modern-day homage to Romeo and Juliet - only these Romeos and Juliets are very real.'

The Entertainment Magazine

'This film shows us how to build up a new future despite the existence of bitterness and hatred. The camera allows us to take part in the stories and development of different couples meeting one another beyond the geographical, political and religious boundaries. The director documents a reality that is far more moving than a fictional script.'

AVANT GARDE FILM FESTIVAL CONTINUES SEARCHING FOR JOHNNY

Feature documentary 'Searching for Johnny' has played on October 18 in Athens, Greece, at the 6th Avant Garde Film Festival's section Different Cinema.

Documentaries and fiction from a new era, films that clearly stand out from mainstream industry productions and explore historical and socio-political issues through innovative narrative structures and the experimental use of their medium of expression, were selected for the program.

The audience responded well to the issues raised by the film - myth and reality, American past and present, portrayed through the story of Johnny Appleseed, the visionary farmer who laid the groundwork for the American pioneers to take over the frontier from indigenous Indians.

Director Miroslav Mandic was present for a lengthy and exciting Q&A session.

While encountering people whose lives were hugely impacted by Johnny Appleseed`s legend even after two hundred years, the viewer gradually understands why Johnny`s legacy is still alive.
